Hibiscus Recipes:
- Hibiscus Iced Tea
Ingredients
- 2 hibiscus tea bags, dried flowers or hibiscus powder.
- 2 cups water
- Ice cubes
- Honey
Method
- Boil the water and steep the hibiscus tea bags or flowers for 6-8 minutes.
- Remove tea bags or strain flowers and let the tea cool.
- Pour the tea over ice cubes and sweeten as desired.
- Hibiscus Salad with Citrus Dressing
Ingredients
- 2 cups mixed salad greens
- 1/2 cup hibiscus flowers (dried or rehydrated)
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
Method
- In a large bowl, combine salad greens, hibiscus flower, orange pieces and chopped walnuts.
- In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil and vinegar to make the dressing.
- Drizzle the dressing over the salad and mix gently.
- Serve the hibiscus salad immediately.
- Hibiscus Berry Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup hibiscus tea (cool)
- 1/2 cup mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries)
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup Greek yoghurt
- 1 tablespoon honey
Method
- Blend hibiscus tea, mixed berries, banana, Greek yoghurt and honey until smooth.
- Pour the smoothie into cups or glasses and add additional seeds and nuts if desired.
